General Performance Targets
All students will be able to:
a) Keyboard at a reasonable rate of speed and accuracy appropriate to grade level.
b) Type their elementary district writing sample and a personal letter using basic word processing skills to support the writing process.
c) Use the Internet as a tool to explore and access information. Perform a teacher-directed web quest.
d) Complete k-12 technology grade level benchmarks appropriate to grade level.
All students will be able to:
a) Use a word processing application to create a document that contains appropriate formatting features.
b)
Use a spreadsheet to analyze and graph data and perform simple
calculations.
c) Use the Internet to access, research and share information. Perform a web quest which validates and references sources in a final report.
d) Complete k-12 technology grade level benchmarks appropriate to grade level.
All students will be able to:
a) Proficiently create documents in the following applications:
· Word Processing
· Spreadsheet
· Presentation
· Database
b) Choose from electives that include: Publishing, programming, animation, accounting and video production and web pages.
c) Use the Internet to research, evaluate, share, present and publish information. Create a web quest with documented, evaluated sources published in a web page report
d) Complete k-12 technology grade level benchmarks appropriate to grade level.

For a more detailed view, see the k12 technology grade level benchmarks. At the high school level, most students should be at application level with basic skills. This will enable us to provide higher level courses that challenge students and help prepare them for the future.
