1. How can I contact you?

Answer- The BEST way is through email. My email address is vajaras@svsu.edu and I check it throughout the week. TIP: Please include your REAL NAME, the course number and the day of the week we meet. Include a phone number if you want me to call you.

2. How can I schedule an appointment?

Answer- Easy, simply send me an email and in the subject area put appointment needed and then we can arrange a time before class. I can be available either Tuesdays or Thursdays for appointments before and after class. Make sure you leave me a contact phone number if you prefer a phone confirmation to an email confirmation. Please provide several days advance notice for an appointment.

3. Problem with a LOGIN to the SVSU Computer Lab?

Or even CHANGE your Password.  To change / synchronize your passwords on all SVSU systems, please fill in all the fields in the online form. If you have problems using the form, please visit the ITS Support Center in Wickes Hall, Room 264 or call 989.964.4225.

4. What is my SVSU email address?

Answer- First, your user name is your email address.
Example: Joe Albert Smith's email is: Jasmith@svsu.edu
 

5. How can I access my SVSU email?

Answer- If you know your user name and password for SVSU,
then you can access the web-based CARDMAIL system from any web browser anywhere in the nation.  

6. If I miss a session, what should I do about my assignment?
   Answer- Contact someone from your group ask them to pick up an extra copy of the assignment, or go to evening services, or wait until the next session. I do NOT answer email requests for assignment sheets.
7. What supplies should I have?
   Answer- the required textbook, a notebook, a pen, pencil (for quizzes & exams), at least 2 floppy disks.
8. How do I prepare for class and get the highest possible grade?

Answer- Attend class. Read the textbook before class. Take notes during lecture. Participate in the discussions and online activities. Do all of your lab assignments. Help your neighbor on the computer if you know how to do something that they are struggling with. Come to class prepared to learn.

9. What can I do to prepare for Quizzes and Exams?

Answer: Attend lectures and read the chapters. Most of the questions are taken directly from the reading material. At the end of each project, check the "What you should Know" section for a summary of skills that you should know. Review the Quick Reference Summary at the back of the book for the application on which you are being tested. The Quick Reference Summary is available online at www.scsite.com/off2000/qr.htm.

10. What is your Incomplete Policy?

Answer: Students will not be given an incomplete grade in the course without sound reason and documented evidence as described in the Student Handbook. In any case, for a student to receive an incomplete, he or she must be passing and must have completed a significant portion of the course.

11. What is your Cheating Policy:

Answer: Students are expected to uphold the school’s standard of conduct relating to academic honesty. Students assume full responsibility for the content and integrity of the academic work they submit. The guiding principle of academic integrity shall be that a student's submitted work, examinations, reports, and projects must be that of the student's own work. Students shall be guilty of violating the honor code if they:

1. Represent the work of others as their own.
2. Use or obtain unauthorized assistance in any academic work.
3. Misrepresent the content of submitted work.
